In addition the automotive industry is facing numerous new parameters such as Block Exemption, hybrids, e-commerce, the European Single Market, Asian manufacturers and the "new" Asian and East European markets. The global aftermarket was particularly affected by these new parameters. It is here that most OEMs and 1st tier suppliers are still enjoying excellent margins.
