Satisfaction in the Building Materials Industry Sinks
For the sixth time, the management consultancy and Hidden Champion in Marketing & Sales, Homburg & Partner, carried out a survey in tandem with ‘Baustoffmarkt’, the business journal, in the German building materials industry.
Over 50 executives in the sector are interviewed twice a year and the results of the interview published in the ‘Baustoffmonitor.’ The core aim of the study in the 2011/12 winter dealt with the following questions:
- Which expectations do market participants have regarding future business developments?
- Which are the central success factors and challenges in marketing and sales?
The mood in the German building materials industry has slightly changed for the worse since the summer of 2011. On a scale of 1-6, based on German school grades, the respondents gave a mean value of 2.1 for the current business situation after having given a value of 1.8 last summer. Estimated more negatively at 2.7 is the development of the sector in the next six months as compared to last summer’s value of 2.1. Nevertheless, manufacturers of building materials expect a 4.8% rise in their own market development.
