From a spin-off to a hidden champion
Homburg & Partner was founded in 1997 by marketing specialist Prof. Christian Homburg at the WHU (Otto Beisheim School of Management) in Koblenz as a consultancy and market research company for benchmarking companies.
Since our consultancy was established as a spin-off from the university, we have continued to evolve into one of the leading specialist consultancies in the fields of Marketing & Sales. Over the last ten years we have increased both the number of consultants and sales by an average of 20% a year. In 2009 Homburg & Partner was voted the Hidden Champion among management consultancies in the field of sales and marketing. This was an independent survey of 250 senior managers by the financial magazine Capital conducted by Prof. Fink.
Apart from our main office in Mannheim we have been presented on the German market with a second office in Munich since 2005. Our company has been present on the American market since 2008 with an office in Boston and since 2011 we have an office in Zurich as well. Plans are currently underway to open another office in Moscow. Our offices abroad reflect the increasingly international nature of the projects undertaken by Homburg & Partner. Whereas in 1997 a clear majority of the projects were limited to Germany, now more than 70% have international links.
Continuity and long-term support are important features of our relationship with customers. Now our clients include more than two thirds of all companies in the Dax 30 index of leading German companies, numerous high-profile medium-sized German companies and many top foreign companies.
In the future, too, we want to continue our policy of healthy and sustainable growth. It is our aspiration and a clear objective to be the Number One specialist Sales & Marketing consultancy.
